Are these some Beautiful eggs or what?? It's been such a joy watching our baby chicks grow up.. We love pulling grass for them to eat.. And we give them veggies from our little postage stamp garden.. They love cherry tomatoes and cucumbers.. We've also been shelling corn and tossing it into their run.. We think they love their tomatoes the most, they pick it up with their beaks and shake it from side to side, sending the seeds inside all over the place, then tracking them down and eating them one by one, till they're all gone.. So dang funny to watch.. And now we have the gift of lovely Brown Eggs.. What a joy to find the fresh eggs in the mornings, still warm to the touch and smelling heavenly.. This morning I watched in awe as Opal laid her egg of the day, she was making the sweetest sound, a soft clucking , then she squatted and 'click', her egg hit the wooden crate that serves as her nesting box.. It's the one at the top left, looks to be the biggest of the lot.. (we ate the first three, scrambled with butter.. hmm-hmm good) Thank you Jesus, for this beautiful gift..
