The End of August..

Hard to believe its already the end of August.. The 'ladies' are looking soo fine, their combs and waddles are beginning to show.. Ozzie the Roo is looking mighty fine too.. His comb and waddle are fully grown and very red.. One of the white ladies is ginormus, with a full comb and waddle also.. We are thinking that 'she' may be a 'he'.. lol .. Since that day a few weeks ago when walking to the pen to feed, I heard a 'roo' crow, and happened to see 'her' with her mouth open.. Not a full crow yet, but a nice one at that.. I've found a substitute for a nesting box.. An old recycle bin from Southern Scavenger.. I sat down and put together a step ladder for it from a two by four and some twigs nailed to it for gripping their little feet on.. Gotta love that.. Tim thinks its just too funny, since he still works there.. and they don't recycle anymore.. lol .. Anywho, here's a couple of photos I'd like to share.. To Good memories..

Excited About Turkeys

Who eats Turkey eggs?? That's the main reason I want chicks, for their beautiful brown eggs.. Soo I just couldn't see putting three grown turkeys in the same run with the egg laying hens.. Soo, thanks to Criags List, last Tuesday I found someone just as excited about raising turkeys as I was in the beginning.. He drove from Florence after seeing this sweet photo of them.. And the best news?? They're going to be 'Pets'.. and have Names !! Gotta love that..


They've been in their new home one week and I miss them everytime I go out to feed.. But I do know they're in a much better place.. and will have a long a happy lifetime.. not ending up on somebody's Thanksgiving Dinner table..  Thanks so much Tony.. Hope you enjoy them just as much as I have..
